Why put a cover on a cover? I wanted a way to cover up the necessary but unsightly spark plug wires plus a way to display the uniqueness of the engine, which was only used in the JDM Nissan Silvia (S15) Spec-S Autech Version.

Using the threaded mounts casted into the valve cover, we created some templates to fit the open area and a notch out where the wires exit towards the distributor. Using InDesign, I took the dimensions from the template and made a flat file we could get laser cut. I used the official Nissan font for “Tuned By Autech” and the logo is the outline of the Nissan Silvia emblem.

After making adjustments to the first laser cut part, I’ve got a second one getting made to bend and mount. More to come…
